PANCYTOPENIA AS INITIAL PRESENTATION OF ACUTE LYMPHOBLASTIC LEUKEMIA AND ITS ASSOCIATIONWITH BONE MARROWRESPONSE

Objective:The objective of this study is to determine the frequency pancytopenia and bone marrow response treatment acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Materials And Methods:This a cross sectional carried out at Medical Oncology Department, Hayatabad Complex, Peshawar. A total 120 patients were included in study. Venous blood sample was obtained from sent laboratory hospital for assessment red cells, white platelets. Reports assessed levels noted. If lower than normal, then labeled as having labeled.Patients advised i.e drug regimen including weekly intravenous vincristine, daunorubicin, intrathecal methotrexate daily dexamethosone 4 weeks). After weeks they underwent aspiration. All samples M1 (less 5% lymphoblasts), M2 (5% 25% Lymphoblasts)& M3 (more Lymphoblasts). Results:Pancytopenia recorded 35 (29.16%) presenting with Out these thirty-five patients, 21 (60%) male 14(40%) female. males, 20 (95.24%)hadM1 responsewhile01(4.76%)patienthadM2response. the14female patients,12(85.71 %)hadM1 response, 1(7.14 %) had 1(7.14%) response. 85 who did not have pancytopenia, 50 (58.8%) (41.2%) males withoutpancytopenia,36(72%) hadM1,10(20%)hadM2and4(8%) hadM3response.Among female 31(88.57%) M1, 2(5.71%) Conclusion:The concluded that although fairly common presentation leukemia but there no significant difference outcome receiving association presence or absence initial respect duration disease.
